Supplements

We always want to get the maximum nutrients and vitamins from our diets, but it is not always possible to reach our optimal levels. Please see the below information on supplementation which can help you get the best of your training program

Supplements

Omega 3

Omega 3 is a fish oil that promotes the immune system, brain and bone function. It is also highly efficient in treating mood disorders and some types of inflammation by reducing triglycerides (a form of fat) in the blood.

Vitamin D

Even in the sunniest climes, the changes in season and working inside during most daylight hours, can mean most of us are lacking in Vitamin D. Vitamin D is the fat soluble (stored in the body for longer) sunshine supplement to help infiltrate our sinking levels. Vitamin D promotes cell regeneration and mood balance.

Protein Powder

Protein powder is great way to get more protein into our system. Protein promotes muscle growth and whether we are in a fat loss or bulking phase, we always want the best chance to build lean muscle. Optimal protein levels can be hard to hit as protein is so satiating, so having a powder option can be a great way to increase our intake, with minimal effort.

Multivitamin

We all have different levels of deficiency when it comes to vitamins. For example, people on a vegan diet are likely to be deficient in calcium and people who have a gluten free diet tend to be deficient in vitamin B. Multivitamins are a great way for us to reach higher levels, as each tablet usually contains a broad range of different vitamins.

Algae Oil

Algae is an Omega 3 alternative which is very useful for people on a vegan diet. It also lowers triglycerides, blood pressure and inflammation in the body.

Magnesium

Magnesium eases muscle tension and can be helpful if you are active. The body can become pretty tense after a week of exercising. Magnesium helps to increase oxygen in the muscles and can also lead to improved performance.

Zinc

Zinc can improve immune function and can help to aid the metabolism. It is also a recommended vitamin for an under-active thyroid.

Iron

The energy vitamin Iron helps with concentration and energy levels. Many women can have low iron levels around their menstrual cycles, and a boost of Iron can help with tiredness and fatigue. Iron promotes red blood cells which carry oxygen around the body and can increase overall bodily function.
